Joanna La-Rose

Born in the beautiful small town of Meaford, Ontario, Joanna La-Rose grew up with a deep appreciation for nature, movement, and living an active lifestyle. This love was nurtured alongside her mother, Bev, and siblings—Jamie, Matt, and Jenna—and laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to wellness and community.
From a young age, Joanna demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for supporting children and families. One of her favourite early roles was working at a daycare within a private ski club, where she combined her love of activity with caring for children. She was also a dedicated student, volunteering in elementary classrooms and serving as a peer helper throughout her school years.
Joanna was first introduced to wellness practices by her mother, Bev, and older sister, Jamie. This early influence sparked a lifelong journey rooted in yoga, self-care, and mindfulness—principles that continue to guide every aspect of her personal and professional life.
She graduated with Honours as a Correctional Worker from Sheridan College and went on to provide both group and individual counselling to at-risk female youth and other vulnerable members of the community. Joanna later earned her Bachelor of Professional Arts in Human Services from Athabasca University.
Continuing to deepen her wellness journey, Joanna became a Certified Nutritionist through Precision Nutrition, an NCCP-certified Coach, and a Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master (Level 3). Her approach to coaching is grounded, mindful, and compassionate—supporting children and families in building confidence, healthy habits, and strong foundations for both physical and mental well-being.
Above all, Joanna is a proud mother of three—a four-year-old and twins under the age of two. Motherhood has been the greatest blessing of her life and the most meaningful, joyful part of her journey. It has further shaped her passion for supporting children’s development, movement, and confidence in a nurturing, family-focused environment.
Through basketball fundamentals and wellness-based coaching, Joanna is dedicated to helping children thrive—on and off the court—while supporting families every step of the way.
